Near Beaufort SC...the Old Sheldon church was built between 1745-1755 and burned during the Revolutionary War in 1779. It was rebuilt in 1826, then burned again, this time by Sherman's troops, during the Civil War in 1865. It is such a peaceful place to wander through with many extremely old tombstones and beautiful live oaks.
